New MG Project Car
Monday was a normal day. Monday night I found out that just a couple hundred miles south of here was a Midget waiting to be picked up and given a new home. Tuesday morning my dad woke up at his house thinking it was going to be a typical Tuesday. Little did he know...
I sold him on the "adventure of it all," and we hopped in his truck with a U-Haul tow dolly on the trailer hitch and headed for the highway. 2.5 hours later, we were in Acworth, GA meeting some very nice folks who had decided that the Midget needed some TLC and soon.
2.75 hours later we had the car back in my driveway. The next day I was able to look it over a little better, but decided to go get it registered first. So Thursday night, I started the clean-up process. The car had been parked for 7 years and wasn't in as bad a shape as my original project car. The car has a Weber downdraught, Alison electronic ignition, and a header. All the hoses looked to be new, as did the battery. The engine compartment cleaned up very well although the hood (bonnet) was not really attached.
The biggest problems with the car are: somebody smashed in the windshield, the interior carpet is non-existent, the top disintegrated on the trip up, there is some rust, and there's a small hole in the passenger side floorboard. That and all the spiders and bugs.
Anyway, stay tuned for more updates!
